Geocache Description:

President Franklin Pierce served as president from 4/4/1853 to 4/4/1857. This is a bullet type micro cache, contains a log only.  Please return as found. thank you!

I increased the difficulty and terrain ratings as 2 vetrans weren't able to find it! The and easiest time to find it would be during the dead of winter when the pond is frozen over - which is when I placed it---hopefully this hint and a quick view of the map will help! This cache and ALL the others placed along the back side of this lake should ONLY be sought after during the dead of winter when this lake is frozen white solid ice -- the non frozen time of the year its extremely difficult to get to this cache even for locals who may know how to enter from Hawley direction - i HIGHLY ADVISE NOT to attempt going for this cache unless the lake is safely frozen to cross or by canoe!! The one time that i bushwhacked from the northeast side to do maintenance was the worst i've ever experienced of my hundreds of hidden caches. My legs were bleeding from being cut pushing through the extreme brush while skirting numerous swamp land --- I've spent 25 years tracking wild animals throughout the northeast U.S. & Quebec & i must say this area is definately one of the worst to bushwhack through ---do not try it! Realistically this cache is likely to be available Jan-March. As soon as the lake freezes over , i will check on all of these caches on my yearly check up -- it was missed last winter due to covid restrictions. Thank you , QuietBear
