In honor and memory of Ted and Ruth who provided this park to Meridian Township by donation and bargain sale in or about 1979. I remember visiting Wonch Battery which for many years occupied the site where the memorial sign is now located. It used to flood (still does) so Ted and staff would, with a good sense of humor, put all the equipment and inventory on tables above the flood line marked inside the building. Wainescoting on hooks, so removable and hangable. This geocache, on higher ground, may be reached during the day by, car, bike, on foot, or by canoe. While you are here, enjoy sight of the green pedestrian bridge, and take a spin around the track. During mosquito season bring a little bug spray.
Moved from earlier site near the river, to be more accessible.
