The City of Galena has allowed caches to be placed along the River Trail. We can give back to the City by helping keep it clean.
Looks like this will be an annual event and you can earn the Souvenir.
There will be time during the CITO for stops at any caches you may not have already found. I will also be doing maintenance on caches.
We will meet at 11:30 am at the listed coordinates which is the trailhead under the bridge. Cross the railroad tracks at the Train Depot and drive to the end of the parking lot under the bridge. There is plenty of parking available. This time span will allow plenty of time for caching before and after the event. We will probably finish before 1.
The trail is 3.5 miles long to the Junction. I am going to bring my bicycle. My foot is bothering me. If you can't walk that far, you are welcome to bring your bicycle too. Whichever mode of travel works for you is fine. If you can only do part of the trail, that is fine too. If we get a large turnout, some may want to do the east segment, which is only 1 mile plus a walking loop. I have parking coordinates listed for it. Another option this year is the new 2 mile segment from the Junction to Aiken. I have parking coordinates for the Aiken end of the trail.
No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail.
Bring a pair of gloves or your favorite trash pick up TOTT.
