The Kuromaru parking area is in the Hebimizo town Higashiomi city Shiga prefecture and there is no name of place about Kuromaru near here. According to my investigation, there is Kuromaru as a subsection of in former Yokaichi city here and the name seems to come from it. By the way, the Yokaichi city was an old market town from the times of Prince Shotoku and the town name comes from it. In addition, the "Odako (big kite) festival" of Yokaichi is famous as the kite which is same the area of 100 tatami mats.
ここ黒丸PAは滋賀県東近江市蛇溝町にありますが、この辺りに黒丸という地名はありません。
何故、黒丸なのか。調べてみると、ここは旧八日市市で、その小字に黒丸（くろまり）がありました。黒丸PAの名称はここからきているようです。
因みに、八日市は古くからの市場町です。聖徳太子の時代から毎月「八」の付く日に市が開かれていたと伝わっており、それが地名の由来となっています。
また、面積が畳百畳分にも及ぶ大凧を揚げる「大凧まつり」でも知られています。
