Geocache Description:

Just another cache “here and there” (HAT) along the way. While out and about doing cache recon on a rainy, muddy spring morning, we decided to fill in a few vacant spots in the area. Sorry — nothing fancy, creative or memorable in the offing. Since the series’ acronym is HAT, and it may be ongoing like Nook&Crannie’s FITG (Fill In The Gap) series, we will highlight a different hat for each cache.

While different types of hats have different types of personalities, the same is true when someone puts one on their head. Not quite like the "thinking cap" your second grade teacher used to tell you about, but more like a beret that makes you feel like a French spy or a red, square plaid hunting hat that makes you feel like Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in the Rye.

SOMBRERO
(click)

A type of wide-brimmed hat from Mexico, usually made of straw, used to shield from the sun. It usually has a high pointed crown, an extra-wide brim, and a chin string to hold it in place. In Spanish, sombrero refers to any wide-brimmed hat; in Mexico the hat is called Sombrero de charro.
