Geocache Description:

At this cache you will be locating a Railroad Museum . The Museum exhibit building replicates the Union Depot that was used until 1917 (Over the years there has been 4 different depot buildings for this city). Exhibits inside the museum include artifacts representing each of the eight railroads that traversed Fort Bend County, items from Tower 17, railroad occupations, signaling, artifacts relevant to the 1879 railcar, express company items, and railroad advertising. If you come to this cache on Saturday or Sunday the museum is open. Saturdays 9 AM to 5 PM Sundays from 1 PM to 5 PM. To verify that you found this cache email me the color of the railroad car that is on the museum grounds along with the name and number on it, or place a photo of your find on the log. This railroad car was formerly owned by a Canadian prime minister.

Tower 17 has been moved to the museum grounds and will soon be a working exhibit of its important contribution to railroad history in Rosenberg. The picture shown on this page shows a Union Pacific train passing thru the diamond when Tower 17 contolled this busy interlocking junction.
