The "Wonderful rocks" are a natural landmark in Bulgaria, in the Varna region, Dulgopol municipality, 4 km south of the village of Asparuhovo. The site, which is around 12.5 hectare in size, was declared a natural landmark on February 17, 1949. The purpose of the decision was the conservation of the rock formations, in order to prohibit changes that could damage the natural image of the rocks and the surrounding landscape and nature. The "Wonderful rocks" are located on the shore of the Tsonevo Dam lake. They are composed of a set of three rock formations in the form of needles with a height between 15 and 40 - 50 meters. The rock phenomenon was formed as a result of the effect of the erosion by wind and the water of the Luda Kamchia river on the soft limestone rock. Through the entire length of the "Wonderful Rocks" three tunnels have been carved out to originally serve as a road between the villages of Asparuhovo and Dobromir. The new main road connecting the towns of Provadia and Aitos, as well as the Varna-Plovdiv railway line, passes next to it.
