This cache is located next to public parking, so you can visit downtown Lawrenceville.
Historically significant buildings in downtown Lawrenceville include the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, Lawrenceville Female Seminary, and the Aurora Theatre (Gwinnett County's only professional theatre).
In 1821, a permanent site for the county courthouse was selected and purchased. Major Grace built the first permanent courthouse, a brick structure, in 1823-24 for a cost of $4,000. The courthouse presently on the square was constructed in 1885. Fire burned down the original courthouse structure in 1871. The Romanesque-style building that stands in its place was designed by Boston architect EG. Lin. A small balcony on the front corner, was used to summon jurors from the square.
Many other shops and restaurants line the square. You can also take the Lawrenceville Ghost Tours.
