We have brought you to your cache location to give you a chance to understand geographically why this place is called Horseshoe Point Park. Take a look around and you will see water on both sides of you.
Horseshoe Point Park is a quaint little camping, boating, swimming, fishing spot. It's pretty easy access for folks from Franklin County, Floyd County and Roanoke County. The locals in Patrick and Henry County think nothing of the short distance to come. The park is open to the public from May 1 to September 30th. Some sites sit on the water's edge making them a great place to launch a boat or kayak from, and the two beaches offer day-users and campers their own designated swim areas. Remember....always wear a life-jacket whenever you are around the water.
We have over 100 miles of shoreline and every now and then, you can see the work of our maintenance contractors. Thay have to walk through rugged hillsides and rocky terrain, through brush and thorns to perform their jobs. Did you notice what they have been doing?
