En el número 10 de la Calle Marqués de Monasterio se encontraba la tienda de antigüedades El Baúl del Monje. En 1998 sus propietarios vivieron todo tipo de sucesos sin explicación aparente: objetos que salían despedidos, golpes surgidos de la nada, estallidos de inexistentes cristales, velas que se encendían solas, muebles que se arrastraban solos por el local, olores desagradables sin origen aparente…
Esta situación llegó a su punto álgido cuando, estando clientes dentro, empezaron a encenderse aparatos por su cuenta, caer parte de los cristales de las lámparas centenarias….lo que hacía que éstos salieran despavoridos. Esta intensificación fue aminorando poco a poco hasta desaparecer.
A pesar de no haber sido resuelto, se sabe que anteriormente un abogado que vivía en estas dependencias se quedó dormido mientras fumaba y todo empezó a arder sin darle tiempo a que pudiera escapar. Fuera el espíritu de este hombre o no, lo cierto es que es una extraña situación que nadie ha sabido explicar hasta el momento.

Whether the spirit of this man or not, the truth is that it is a strange situation that nobody has been able to explain so far.
