Pillbox Series - The Cutting, Chilcompton

This Pillbox is a type 24 with Brick Shuttering (FW3) built to defend the Somerset and Dorset railway, this particular pillbox would have been on the edge of a cutting which has been filled in, it also lies on the GHQ Line : Green Stop Line - Burnham on Sea to near Melksham (where it joins with the GHQ Line: Blue) and then north to the River Severn at Newnham. This line is also known as the Bristol Outer Line. Manned by VIII Corps. There is parking right next to the other nearby pillbox cache but please be sensible or you can do it as part of the along the line series.
The Pillbox Series - This is a series of caches set next to Pill boxes or other gun emplacements, if you wish to add to the series please place "Pillbox Series" somewhere in the name of your cache.
