Be respectful - Do not search if Grange activities are going on behind the gate.
This series highlights locations in Skagit County. These communities were formed in the early 1870's remaining up until the 1920's. Many of the names still appear on maps. A few have buildings remaining in use today. These communities and many others can be found on https:/www.skagitcounty.net/Maps/iMap/?mapjs=hist
Rexville was/is located at the southern end of Pleasant Ridge where it touches the North Fork of the Skagit River. Rexville was platted as a town in 1883 but never settled as one. It had a school, a creamery, a Grange which is still active, and a county rock quarry providing rock for building foundations and roadways.
Permission granted by Grange members. The cache is now located outside the gate. There is an old quarry which is now the home of the Rexville-Blackrock Amphitheater behind the fence. Visitors on foot can go look at the Quarry if no performers are there. During July/ August 2019 GeoCachers were disruptive during Shakespearian presentations. The background picture is the Creamery sometime before 1900.
