This is a puzzle cache, spread over a handful of locations in and around Cambridge. There is nothing cache related at the headline coordinates, but you might enjoy the view there.
A funny thing happened on the way to the Senate (House)
The other day I found a folder lying in the street containing some papers and a USB drive. There wasn’t much on the drive—just a boring photo of some street furniture:

The papers are a strange collection! The top one is a very bad drawing, but it reminded me of a book I read ages ago. Sadly I can’t remember what it was. There’s also a couple of coded messages, and some tables.

Although I couldn’t break the codes, I did transcribe the messages: [Message 1], [Message 2].
Perhaps you’ll do better!
Congratulations
FTF: jollyquest
Not only was jollyquest the first-to-find the cache, they also gave some helpful suggestions to improve it. This necessarily means that they solved a harder version of the puzzles.
Chapeau!
Miscellanea
To find this cache, besides the usual things, you will need a 9V battery, a pair of headphones, and a micro USB power supply (as you might use to charge a mobile phone). A soldering iron is strictly optional.
Please feel free to contact the cache owner for hints, advice, and general encouragement.
To complete the cache, you will have to make between four and six forays into the field, with some puzzles to solve in between these sorties. You can use the geochecker below to verify all of the locations.
