Questa è una delle sette cache che troverete percorrendo il "Sentiero Azzurro Orientale" dalla partenza ( N 45° 57.719 E 008° 27.534 ) al bivio ( N 45° 57.340 E 008° 28.641 ), che poi riscende sulla provinciale oppure prosegue verso Bieno. Il sentiero, in periodi piovosi, potrebbe essere poco percorribile a causa di ruscelli che creano qualche difficoltà nel loro attraversamento. Moltissimi sono i generi di bambù tutti appartenenti alla tribù Bambuseae, piante sempreverdi perenni della famiglia Poaceae (Graminaceae). Possono essere alte da pochi centimetri fino a raggiungere notevoli dimensioni (anche 40 m di altezza e 30 cm di diametro). Le radici sono rizomatose e la loro tipologia di sviluppo è molto variabile; infatti ritroviamo specie dove le radici si sviluppano considerevolmente in orizzontale o in verticale e si allontanano molto dal loro punto di origine ed altre invece che hanno uno sviluppo molto contenuto, con habitus cespitoso. Il fusto è cilindrico, con internodi cavi e nodi molto evidenti, dai quali si sviluppano le foglie sottili e lanceolate. Il bambù è la pianta che cresce più rapidamente sulla Terra, anche 10 cm al giorno, la sua fioritura è un evento speciale e raro e avviene solo ogni 60 anni circa e la pianta, dopo aver prodotto fiori e semi, muore. In molti casi il bambù diventa pianta davvero molto invadente, ma per fermarne la propagazione basta rompere, appena spuntano, i giovani germogli.
Il bambù si è meritato l'epiteto di "acciaio vegetale", grazie alla straordinaria resistenza meccanica sia alla compressione che alla trazione, per questo in ambito ingegneristico può essere usato come materiale da costruzione, molto resistente anche alle sollecitazioni dei terremoti. Il bambù ha un legno cavo leggero, ma anche resistente, perciò viene impiegato da secoli per gli usi più diversi: per ottenere robuste corde, per costruire tubazioni per l’irrigazione o per la distribuzione del gas naturale, per costruire abitazioni appunto. Altri utilizzi si hanno nella costruzione di armi, trappole, vele, carta, tessuti, teli di biciclette, canne da pesca, strumenti musicali, farmaci e filtri per acqua e aria.
In ambito alimentare, i germogli della pianta sono stati utilizzati come alimento e dalle foglie si sono ottenute delle particolari bevande alcoliche. Le canne sono oggi utilizzate in Cina per la fermentazione del vino. In Thailandia viene mangiata l'intera pianta. Inoltre i germogli di bambù sono la principale fonte di cibo per il panda gigante, che è l’emblema nazionale in Cina e il simbolo del WWF.

There are many kinds of bamboo, all belonging to the Bambuseae tribe, evergreen perennial plants in the Poaceae family (Graminaceae). Bamboo has a hollow stem which is also light and resistant, so for centuries it has been used for different purposes: to obtain strong ropes, to build pipes for irrigation or the distribution of natural gas, and indeed to build houses. Other uses are in the manufacture of weapons, traps, sails, paper, textiles, bicycle frames, fishing rods, musical instruments, water and air filters, and in the production of drugs.
In the food industry, the plant's shoots are eaten and unique alcoholic drinks are obtained from its leaves. These day, bamboo canes are used in China for wine fermentation. In Thailand, the whole plant is eaten. Bamboo shoots are also the main source of food for the giant panda, which is China's national emblem and the symbol of WWF.
