Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the 2019 FUN Geocoin Challenge. Everyone knows you need a passport to have FUN. Be sure to download and print your FUN Passport (and find other helpful resources) at FUN Geocoin Challenge and get started today!

This is the bonus puzzle cache for the 2019 FUN Geocoin Challenge, where everything is made up and the points don't matter. What isn't made up is that permission was given for this hide, and that matters. To solve this puzzle you will be required to gather information from the cache descriptions for the FUN Geocoin Challenge. Not every description in the challenge is a clue. That would be silly, not FUN. Here are some tips to use while completing the FUN Geocoin Challenge that will make solving this easy puzzle even easier.

Each description has a 'splash' (the common paragraphs above and below the actual interesting description for the cache). Except the paragraphs below are not all that common. Each of these 'below' sections contains the following:
An attempt at humor
A world famous Geocacher to be on the lookout for
A world famous Geocacher who is the actual hider of the geocache
Points that don't matter

There is a section on your passport to record this information for each cache you attempt. That way, you will be very prepared to answer the following questions that will provide the numbers to do the simple math.
When you are done, the final total will equal the coordinates, a set for the North and a set for the West. You will need to know where to put the space and the decimal. Let's begin:

To solve for the North Coordinates please do the following math:

  • Start with 0 (zero).
  • Add the total of 70,000 points times the number of letters in the actual hiders name for FUN: Bigfoot Goes to College - GC88BM7). This is "Total A".
  • Look up FUN: Stu's Last Stop - GC85Y3P and notice two words in bold in the bottom splash. Assign each letter of the two words 100,000 points and the space 0 points. Add them all up. Use that total and add to the total A. This is "Total B".
  • Next, find the cacher to be on the lookout for in FUN: Princess Taigan and the Iron Angels - GC851KW. Multiply the number of letters in their name by 99,999 and then add the number of points they are worth if you see them while you are doing the challenge. Take this number and add it to total B. This is "Total C".
  • Next, find the cacher who actually made the hide for FUN: Farewell Tour - GC89BWY and multiply the number of letters in their name by 100,000 points. Add to that total the number of points the cacher to be on the lookout for is worth by 100. Add all of this to total C. This is now "Total D".
  • Finally, add this number created from a random number generator, 636,780, to total D. This becomes the final N coord number!
Since this is an easy puzzle, you are awesome, and the points don't matter, the coordinate checker will undoubtedly confirm your results. But first, let's solve for W.

  • Start with 0 (zero).
  • Add one million points for each letter in the name of the cacher that made the hide for FUN: Through the Wardrobe - GC85H33 This is "Total E".
  • Review FUN: Got Bones? - GC87TGP. We are introduced to the "_______ International Museum of Science and Art". Multiply the number of letters in the missing word by 90,000 points. Use that total and add to the total E. This is "Total F".
  • For FUN: One Giants Trash - GC85T2P note the number in the name of the cacher to be on the lookout for (not the actual cacher who made the hide, Lookout Lisa...) Multiply that number by 100,000 points. Take this number and add it to total F. This is "Total G".
  • Next, find the number of points the cacher to be on the lookout for is worth for FUN: Ghost of Larry, Moe & Curly - GC86HN6 and multiply that total by the number of names in the cache title, then multiply that number by 100. Add the result to total G. This is now "Total H".
  • Finally, add this number created from a random number generator, 386,878, to total H. This becomes the final W coord number!
Since this is easy math, the points don't matter, and you are awesome, the coordinate checker will undoubtedly confirm your results. Good Luck!

This cache is part of the 2019 Fantastic Unbelievable Nonsense Geocoin Challenge where everything is made up and the points don't matter. If it's been FUN, it probably happened in Spokane. Heck, no probably about it - it has happened in Spokane! For example this kind of FUN, simply find caches and earn a trackable Geocoin, and that ain't no joke!
  • All caches begin with the series name FUN: followed by a snazzy name so they are easy to search. We also made a FUN Bookmark of the caches.
  • To qualify for a Geocoin, find the code word or stamp in each geocache and record it on your passport.
  • Visit FUN Geocoin Challenge to find the challenge rules, a printable FUN Passport, and a map view of qualifying caches. Oh, and if you see a dragon, alien, unicorn, dinosaur, or giant red wagon (or you ARE a dragon, alien, unicorn, dinosaur, or giant red wagon) during your travels for this challenge, please remember to add 20,000 points to your personal total.

The Fantastic Unbelievable Nonsense Geocoin Challenge is sponsored by Cache Advance, Compass Creek Designs and by donations of money, time, and talent from local cachers. We hope you enjoy!
