Geocache Description:

Brass Lantern:

In the early 1970's the Brass Lantern became a fine dining establishment.  It had two sections, the dining area and the bar area with a full range of beer, wine and cocktails.  The restaurant was a long time landmark on the corner of M-55 and M-18 with a beautiful stone marquee promoting the hours of operation and meal specials.

The Brass Lantern had a warm up north atmosphere and good food attracting many patrons including celebrities who after performing at the play house would unwind with an aperitif and a great meal.

Folks would say that a nicely dressed spirit/ghost gentleman with a black top hat would make his presence known every now and then in the bar area.  Especially on slow nights or when the evening was coming to a close.  Whether you believe this or not, one can’t help to wonder if he now roams the aisles of Walgreen since on November 11, 2006 was the last time the Brass Lantern served it's many customers.  An auction was held and it was razed to make room for this new business.

Cache:

It’s a container I hope collects favorites!  Please put the cache back exactly where you found it to provide the most camouflage.  Also, after signing the log please roll it up tight and put the log back into the top and screw it back in without over tightening.

MiGO Logo 2 goes here. If missing, please message the CO
