Geocache Description:

This is a slow, up hill hike to the cache. The trail is well maintained. Hikers, mountain bikers and horse riding can be on the trail. When muddy, please do not use the trail. The 7,000 acres Fort Meade Recreation Area is notable for its place in western history. This popular area is a mix of forest and midgrass prairie on the eastern foothills of the Black Hills, adjacent to Sturgis, in Meade County. The trailhead is right in the middle of this area and is the closest access point for the Cenntenial Trail to Sturgis. You will start on #3 trail. When there is a fork in the road, continue on #2 trail. There you will see an amazing view of Bear Butte. Bring your camera and be prepared to take amazing pictures on the trail! The cache is not too far off the trail. Please be aware of muggers on the trail. Please hide the cache well for the next cacher to find. Have fun on the trail!
