Another tribute to a geocache I found back in 2004 in Kissimmee that's still active. Back then I couldn't relate to the concept of game day. That's all changed now. Now we travel almost every weekend to play on fields like these, and I appreciate a close cache.
Park hours are: Summer 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. / Winter 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The coordinates take you to a good watching spot next to the bathrooms/snack bar. It's a good spot to start but nothing there will help you find this cache.
It was great to get back out on the field for my younger daughter and her team, who were playing on the first field as you drive in. They had been off the previous weekend so they were ready to get back into it. The game started well, with some good mechanics for our side on both offense and defense. We couldn't convert some good opportunities, though, and they nabbed a goal on my daughter, who was playing keeper, on a one-on-one breakaway. She got a hand on it but it wasn't enough.
The game progressed and my daughter shut them out the rest of the game, but we couldn't get any shots to go in and walked away with a 1-0 loss. The team played well, though, so we celebrated by heading the the Orlando Pride game that evening. A few of their players play on the US Woman's national team.
Be sure to take a few minutes to watch a game on your way to the cache. Who knows, you may be watching a future world-class player.
The cache is hidden a safe distance from the soccer fields. In order to locate the cache, you need do a little research. The Latitude (N) coordinate should be adjusted +(n * .003) where n is the field number where my daughter played her game today. The Longitude (W) coordinate must be adjusted +(w * 0.0078421), rounded to three decimal places. where w is the number of wins for the US woman's national soccer team in 2019.
A small amount of off-trail walking is required.
