A simple cache and dash (just) in the village of Lilbourne (originally named Lillaburna, hence the title) overlooking the delights of the busy M1 Motorway(!)
Lilbourne is a village and civil parish in the Daventry district of Northamptonshire in England. It is close to the M1 motorway which runs east of the village, and the A5 road, west of the village which marks the boundary with Warwickshire, slightly to the north is the River Avon which marks the boundary with Leicestershire.
Just outside Lilbourne is the River Avon and the remains of a Norman motte-and-baileycastle. To the west of the castle is the local church, All Saints, which is Grade I listed building dating from the 12th century. A, smaller, motte and bailey castle lies 1 km to the north west of the village, at Lilbourne Gorse.
*** You are looking for a small clip top box with a log and pencil in it along with a shiny £1 for the first to find.... there is room for swaps, tb's & geocoins........mind the road - please park with consideration.
The cache is on the Yelvertoft Road, do not go anywhere near the Motorway! ***
