Galley hafen was built for the needs ob Baltic fleet. Project was made by famouse architect Domenico Trezzini and included rectangular basin, connected with gulf of Finland with channel and shipyard. Behind your back, in the beginning of the channel you can see two watchmen pavilion (also designed by Domenico Trezzini), these buildings also were some kind of lighthouses - they showed where is entry to the channel. Now west pavilion is abandoned and in east there's Sea rescue museum (it own and sutiated in Ministry of Emergency Situations unit).
In front of you is basin where galleys were maintenant in 18 century. And made of red bricks water tower (do you like water towers as much as me?) which was used for water supply of military factory. Now tower is private.
And of course - view to the Gasprom tower (also known as "Corn cob") - the highest building in our city
