The biophilia hypothesis, which argues that humans have an innate desire to seek connections with nature.
Today I was in the park working on a project for a recreation class about biophilia. Did you know that 20 minutes in nature is enough time to lower blood pressure, lower cortisol levels, clear negative thoughts, increase mood, lower anxiety and depression. Studies have shown that those suffering from ADHD demonstrated increased ability to focus after spending a brief amount of time in a natural setting. See, I just gave you more reasons to go caching.
I saw there were no caches in this park and decided to go back to the car, grab an ammo can and hide one. The park has both nature and history, as it was the sight of a Civil War encampment. The trails are well maintained and are made of both crushed gravel or pavement. The cache is hidden within 15 of the nature loop trail, so there is no need to go bushwhacking through the forest, until you get within 20 feet of the cache. In a world full of park and grab micros, I hope you enjoy the brief walk and the ammo can. There are benches, picnic tables, and interpretive signs throughout. It's a good place to walk, listen to the birds, soak in some nature and just let the world go away for a few minutes. Hopefully, this cache with allow you do just that. Please adhere to park rules and regulations - i.e no caching after dark.
