Almost heaven, Newfoundland
Long Range Mountains, Humber River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
Out of metro, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
Inside The Overpass, we all seem to land here
Now off of Gushue, by where they store the water
There's a road here, climbs up to the sky
With caches in my backpack there's a twinkle in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
Like out of metro, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
With my ice cleats, the morning hour she calls me
This trail reminds me of my home far away
And driving the bypass road I get a feeling
That I'll hide some caches today - come find your way!
Country roads, take us home
To the place we belong
Out in nature, yet still in metro
Take us home, country roads
Country roads, take us home
To the place we belong
Eight new caches, easy strollin'
Take us home, country roads
The lyrics set the stage for this string of eight caches between Redmond's Road and Montclair Street in Kenmount Park. If you have two vehicles you could park one at each end, yet the stroll down and back would likely be between 1-2 hours, including finding and logging the caches.
All are winter friendly except the cache closest to Montclair Street.
The caches run parallel to Kenmount Road, on a classic wide trail - essentially a country road.
If you are in town and you actually want to get out of town for a bit, come here and you are immediately transformed to out of the city.
This first cache is a classic 500mL camo'd container, with the usual swag and a TB upon initial hide.
Thanks, as always, for coming out to our caches.
