Geocache Description:

This is a typical cache along any highway except the location has some historical significance. The original highway between Reville and Conway crossed the Skagit river at this spot after passing through Rexville. Remains of the old bridge abutments can be seen along the river. The bridge was replaced in the early 60's and the road re-routed 4/10ths of a mile down stream.

The Rexville school was built between 1883 and 1885 and located across the street from this location burned down in Feb 1963.

Additional information about the County is available at Skagit County Historical Museum in La Conner.

We spoke with the homeowner prior to placing the cache receiving full permission to place the cache here. We met his dog who is very friendly, often visiting with cachers.

Congratulations Mizdirection on an early morning FTF.
