This cache is located just off the Huckleberry Trail as it passes through the Coal Mining Heritage Park. The Park is located in the middle of the trail midway between the towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg. The former Merrimac mining community used to reside on this 30 acre tract that once contained a mining tipple, hotel, general store, and residential housing for coal miners. Now you will find a passive park with open green space. The cache is on the trail just outside the Coal MIning Heritage Park.
Parking is located at the Merrimac Recycling and Waste Collection Center.
