The Allegheny County Park Rangers, REI, TrailPGH, and PAGA will be teaming up again this summer to have a series of trail project work days that will highlight different work efforts on the many trails throughout the different Allegheny County Parks. On July 27th, we will be joining forces for our forth trail work day for the summer/fall season. This time we will be heading to Round Hill Park and we will be working on the on the trail that we started building last fall. We will be meeting at 8:45 AM at the old park office, which is located at the end of Greer Road. We will be working from 9 AM to 12 Noon on Saturday. Light refreshments will be available before and a pizza lunch will be provided afterwards. Today’s work on the new trail will include the following activities: - Removal of trees and brush along the sides of the trail - Clearing overhead dangers for horseback rides - Setting up drainage along the trail - Developing tread along the trail If you are considering to come out and help with this CITO, please wear sturdy boots or shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy. Light refreshments will be provided before the CITO starts and a pizza lunch will be provided afterwards. If you are not able to make today’s CITO and want to come out and help at one of the other county parks later this summer, the schedule is below: August 10th at Deer Lakes August 24th at South Park September 14th at White Oak September 28th at Boyce October 12th at Harrison Hills We hope to see you out to help us with this project or another project later this summer!
