Geocache Description:

Dragon Skin is a Scouting event held over the Easter long weekend every year since 1984.

Teams of teens aged between 14 and 17 from Venturer Scouts, Guides, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award spend the long weekend in a chosen NSW state forest navigating to and completing activity bases during the day and camping and having fun at designated overnight camps (VOCs) when the sun goes down.

Dragon Skin 2019 (whose theme this year was Kingdoms and Empires) was held in the Penrose State Forest from April 19-22 where 720 Venturers in some 160 teams competed to see who would come out on top in tests of initiative, leadership, teamwork and technical skills. (Congratulations to team 121 - PMA from 2nd Gordon)

Making the event possible were the efforts of almost 700 rovers, leaders and supporters who donated their time and effort to the event to help run activity bases, comms, night activities, security, admin, catering and many other roles that ensured the success of the event. Some of the volunteers had spent the entire previous year preparing and have already begun preparations for Dragon Skin 2020.

The cache was placed at the site of VOC3 which housed (tented?) over 150 rovers for the entire event and hosted 110 venturer teams over the course of the three nights.

The cache is a hand made camo with a container that is sized between a micro and a small. You will need to BYO pen.
