This small camo bison is hanging on a slender tree at a viewpoint that's kind of unique, right on a social trail across municipal parklands that links to the pedestrian walkway across the big bridge over Ship Creek connecting downtown Anchorage with Government Hill and the Port. This viewpoint is a dirt hillside, just off the east-west trail that wraps across the entire south and west side of Government Hill. Bring your walking shoes and take a hike along the seldom-seen trail to get a scenic view of downtown Anchorage from its seldom-seen north side! Additional note: Please be bear aware - this trail sees occasional use by black bears coming off Elmendorf AFB & the Port of Anchorage, as they travel to and from the Ship Creek fishery. Make noise and keep your head up!
Note: First to post a photo to their 'found it' log showing the trash they picked up here will be awarded a CITO Geocoin by the cache owner at the next GeocacheAlaska! eduvent. I was only carrying a small grocery bag, and ran out of space for the cans and bottles discarded along this trail. Your CITO efforts here will be rewarded if you've recorded your efforts!
Thank you, and remember, Cachers Improve The Outdoors!
