War Memorial #506 ~ Arlesey
Arlesey war memorial stands at the junction of High Street, House Lane and Church Lane. It is a statue of a soldier standing with his rifle resting barrel down on the ground. Only 12 of the Arlesey men lost to war are buried in the nearby graveyard of St Peter's Church. 6 of them, however, are not mentioned on the memorial. In addition to the 88 victims of WW1 and 21 victims of WW2 there are 2 names engraved on a vase at the base on one side of the memorial. It is not made clear how these men died.
