Welcome to the Port Orange Cannonball Run. In 1979 a cross country outlaw road race was run from Connecticut to California. This race was immortalized in the 1981 movie Cannonball Run with an iconic cast of actors. Burt Reynolds stared with Farrah Fawcett, Dom Deluise, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Roger Moore, Terry Bradshaw, Mel Tillis, Jackie Chan, Jimmy the Greek, Peter Fonda and others.
Today you can sign the log for the Port Orange Cannonball Run which is held every month. The coords will take you to the signup box at a popular spot on Rose Bay. When you arrive at the signup box start the countdown 3-2-1 go to open the lock. Inside the box you will find 12 logs one for each month of the year and a few duds. It might be fun if you find the current month and log your find there. Please do not over tighten the lids, just spin them back on loosely so the next cacher won’t have trouble removing them.
