The Athens Star Cache is a nice little treasure trove for the
geocaching Star Trek/Star Wars/Sci-Fi fans. Most of the cache
contents were donated by Sakrysta J'Than of www.terranbbs.com,
a good friend of my wife, Laitka Corrine. (Yes, these are
pseudonyms with a lot of history--don't ask!)
Although this cache was originally loaded with Star Trek and
Star Wars, we're not limiting it to just these particular
franchises. Anything sci-fi will do!
Important note: This is located on the property of a
park; the parking lot is at 33 55.538 N 083 23.010 W. Please avoid
taking nearby residential area shortcuts to reduce nuisance
possibilities. (If you continue down one of the nearby residential
streets, it will end with a small gate and a fenced-in dog walk
area. Navigating from that point will avoid trespassing in any
private homes, but still results in the questionable use of a
residential street for parking and back-gate access.)
Environmental thought: Bring your two trusted geocaching
friends, Long Sleeves and DEET... the mosquitos are
incredibly vicious during warm weather.
