This series of caches is designed to take you to some of the squares of our adopted home town Lagos. Some are big others small but all are likely to be busy and for this reason some of the caches have been placed in slightly offset locations. Please use extreme stealth when logging due to the number of Muggles about.
The caches are all micro or nano in size so please bring a pen to write with and tweezers may be useful for retrieving the log books.
The square and monument is a tribute to the dead of the Great War, which pays homage to the Portuguese participation in the First World War. At the beginning of the war Portugal maintained an attitude of neutrality, despite the commercial alliance they had with England. However, and under pressure of this same ally, the Portuguese Government was forced to imprison several boats of German origin that were in the Tejo, to which Germany responded declaring open war to Portugal.
Due to the distance rules of Geocaching this cache has had to be placed a little way out of this square where you can also find another of the famous Lagos landmarks the green tiled building
