This is a monument commemorating the end of the Battle of Four Lakes
In September of 1858, 700 soldiers under the command of Col George Wright, U.S. Army, routed 5000 allied native americans from the area south of this site, now known as Four Lakes. The battle is now identified as either the Battle of Four Lakes or the Battle of Spokane Plains. The running battle lasted four days, and the native americans were defeated in the area surrounding this site. This site essentially commemorates the last armed conflict between the allied nations and the U.S. Army in the Inland Northwest.
The area is now the site of private homes, the railroad, and Fairchild Air Force Base, but it's easy to see what the area might have looked like 150 years ago.
The cache originally contained:
A "Lucky" penny
1944 Eine Mark Note
Happy Face
Band-Aid
Stone Bumblebee
American Flag Pin
Keep in mind that the cache is small, and there isn't much room.
