Quixotic... Artistic... Forlorn... Home... Junkyard or Graveyard?
Many descriptions are applied to the scenery on the east side of the Homer Spit at this location. What's your take on what you're seeing here? Describe it in your cache log (with a couple of photos!) after you've enjoyed the view. When local cacher AKXtraTuf and I were here placing the hide, there were more than two dozen eagles in sight. Offshore a hundred yards or so to the west was a small raft of sea otters - perhaps 8 of them floating together. Seabirds had just begun arriving in droves during their migration. The Homer Spit is a treasure, which is best enjoyed with beach walks and other pursuits outside of your vehicle. This is a great place for a leisurely bike ride!

Several important notes:
• There is no nearby parking; the nearest parking is at least a quarter-mile from here.
• The boat graveyard area is private property and a residence, and they discourage visitors from straying off the bike path onto their land.
• The boat graveyard owners DO encourage photography of their efforts to bring art into play at this location!
• Please keep children under tight control and dogs on leash, as the cache is not on the bike path side of the roadway.
• You do not need to venture into the rock rip-rap to make this find. Cache is a keyhide container.
• Week to week maintenance is by AKXtraTuf, and I'm in town at least quarterly.
