GeocacheAlaska! is working hard to promote Geocaching in Alaska! Please join us today!
Situated 1100 feet above Kachemak Bay on Skyline Drive and 2 1/2 miles from the base of Homer Spit is a paved pullout which gives visitors a commanding million-dollar view of the Bay, the Spit, and the mountains of Kachemak State Park, the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and the Kenai Fjords National Park between 10 to 20 miles distant. The entire point of this cache is to bring you to an incredible viewpoint along the paved road system where the view is of a priceless place... no subterfuge, no puzzles, just the kind of place we love to find on our travels. The site can accommodate RVs as long as it's not already full of visitors.

Painted rock found as we placed the geocache on a rainy day...
Notes:
• NO CAMPING! Keep your time short here to allow room for other visitors during the summer season - it's not made for long stops, just a photo moment.
• Please handle the microbison carefully to camouflage it from muggles. Only remove the base of the microbison to access the logsheet, please. Your care will help keep this cache in play!
• Local artists place small painted rocks here from time to time. Make sure you keep your vehicle's tires on the paved parking area to avoid damaging the lovely small stone artwork often found here!
• Practice CITO - remembering that Cachers Improve The Outdoors - leave it looking like no one left anything behind! There are free dumpster sites in Homer at the septic dump station across the street from the post office. Show off the CITO ethic that sets geocaching apart from other outdoor activities. Take a before and after photo of your CITO efforts and post them on Instagram together with your beautiful view photo and the hashtags #getoutside #gogeocaching #geocachealaska #cito #trashtag #homeralaska #kachemakbay
• Week to week maintenance by local cacher AKXtraTuf; NorthWes is in town at least quarterly.
