Geocache Description:

Did you know......"During the nineteenth century, Quinpool Road was a dirt track winding through the countryside from the present day conjunction of roads referred to as the Willow Tree, then called Saint Andrew's Cross, down to the Northwest Arm. The path reached the Arm at approximately Horseshoe Island where there was a fishery. A Halifax Irish tradition collected by Michael Punch had it that the name Quinpool Road derived from Quin's Pool the body of water at Horseshoe Island called the pool, near the house of a widow named Quin, hence Quin's Pool Path"- Cyril Byrne, Halifax Street Names
