Geocache Description:

27 July 2019, 09:00 - 12:00

It's the Treasure Coast Geocaching Club's 3rd Annual Cache-mas in July Event. Why wait until Christmas, or Hanukkah, or what ever seasonal holiday you might celebrate, to have a celebration?

Come join us for the fun!

We will be meeting at at the posted coordinates from 9:00 to 12:00 am for a pot-luck breakfast, a white elephant gift exchange, and much more fun! The last couple of years have been memorable to say the least. We're hoping this year is better yet!

We will again meet at what we locals call "The Douglas Rope Swing". It's at the same location as last year. If you haven't been yet, this place has a very large covered pavillion, with lots of picnic tables. It also has a rope swing, a very large slide, a playground for the mini-cachers, a dock, a diving board, a zip line across the pond, and much more! So, bring your swimming attire and spirit of adventure! Many folks wish they had last year.

And yes, it's all free!

Since this is a morning event, what would be better than sharing breakfast? We're asking attendees who would like, to bring a potluck breakfast dish. It could be a breakfast casserole, some fruit, some pastries, some coffee (preferably from that donut place Mrs. coleclan loves so much), some juice, whatever you want, and we'll share a nice meal while we're having fun! This is not a requirement though, and last year, we had plenty, so don't let coming without anything stop you!

Although it is not required to attend, if you would like to participate in the gift exchange, all you need to do is bring a wrapped GEOCACHING RELATED gift. It should be valued somewhere around $5 - $10. It can be more if you choose to do so, but that is up to you. We don't expect anyone to break their budget. Suggestions would include, but not be limited to, a geocache container with log book and swag, a TOTT (tool of the trade), geocoins or other trackables, geocaching related apparel, cache maintenance kits, first aid kits, gift certificates (people do get hungry and thirsty out caching all day), or anything else geocaching related you can think of. The items do not need to be new. You can bring in something used or even custom made if you choose.

The rules will be simple.....you will receive a numbered ticket for your gift. When your number is called, you may choose a wrapped gift from the table, and unwrap it, or steal one that someone else already picked. *After the 2nd steal, that gift is considered "out of play." However, the person who went 1st, will have the opportunity to also go last. That person, and only that person, may choose ANY gift, including one that was previously deemed "out of play." Then the play continues according to the original rules until the last person has picked their gift. What you end up with after that is yours to keep.

We will also be playing another round of GEOCACHING BINGO! (the coleclan edition - which will be updated with new accomplishments). The rules are simple. 1. Get a bingo card. 2. Get a pen if you don't have one (every geocacher should always have one). 3. Start talking to other cachers to see if they can sign off on having done any of the accomplishments in the boxes. 4. Cachers may only sign no more than 1 box per bingo card. 5. HAVE FUN! (It's called the coleclan edition because coleclan has accomplished every one of the boxes, but still can only sign off on one of them). The winner (first to complete a card) receives plenty of attaboys and bragging rights, but that's all.

There will again be an optional raffle drawing for trackables and other great prizes. You will receive one ticket for attending, and have the opportunity to obtain more. We will be supplying raffle prizes. Additional donations of drawing prizes would be greatly appreciated, but are also not required.

Mostly, this will be a time to gather with others who enjoy this hobby/game as much as we do. We can share stories about geocaching, whether true or not, see old friends, make new ones, laugh a lot, plan future adventures, or just take a break from the trails, yet receive a smiley anyway.

Please post your will attends, as we would like to prepare for how large the crowd might be. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
