With Aberdeen being one of the best places in Europe to see bottlenose dolphins, why not head along to the historic Torry Battery, just south of Aberdeen Harbour and see if you can spot them? The best place to look for dolphins is between the two breakwaters the north breakwater has an orange wall, the south breakwater has the taller navigation control light. (See picture below)

Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for other sightings of marine wildlife including a wide range of seabirds, as well as seals, otters and possibly even whales.
Of course we cannot guarantee the Dolphins will put in an appearance however even if you don’t see any dolphins, we hope that you will enjoy the panoramic views of the harbour, Aberdeen City and along the coast – as well as the selection of caches to be found in the area.
If you have time you might also wish to walk around the headland to the new visitor centre to view the ongoing construction of the new Aberdeen South harbour one of the largest construction projects in Europe. See waypoints for location.
