Geocache Description:

17 June 2019, 18:30 - 21:30

GCZ Team and the Flamingoes (Flurrier and Chaser) invite everyone to another fabulous geocaching social evening at our local pub, and an opportunity to meet local cachers and others from further afield - everyone welcome! This is the 11th event we have organised in the village pubs together and we hope it will be as good as all the others!

Where:

Please come and join us in the Fox on the Causeway in Burwell - a large village close to the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk border north of Newmarket and just off the A14. Our official base will be the restaurant room to the left of the main entrance door. There is also plenty of seating and a garden outside, so we may be able to spill out if the weather's good to us!

When:

We have arranged with the landlord to use the lounge room (turn left after coming through the main front door) from 6.30-9.30pm on Monday 17 June (a few days before the Midsummer Solstice and longest day), the time of lovely light and warm evenings. Bob the landlord at The Fox has kindly offered to have a limited à la carte menu between 6.30 and 7.30 on event night so if you get in quick, there will be food on offer (but we don’t know what yet!)

What to do:

Come and stay for the whole evening or just pop in for a quick visit and meet cachers from nearby and further afield, and swap stories and chat. It is always great to put faces to names (or so to speak!!). Bring TB's for swapping or discovering (we'll have the usual couple of boxes handy) - and don't forget to 'drop them' on the event page using a 'Write Note' before you arrive.

There  are lots of caches situated within a 2 kilometre radius of the pub (with the new EarthCache there are now 7 different types including the event), so plenty to look for on a nice Summer afternoon/evening.

Parking:

There is a small car park at the side of the pub.

Just for interest - this is a view in the late 19th/early 20th century of the street just to the west of where the Fox pub is now. The building on the right is now the newsagents!

See you there!
