[ITA] Forte Puin
IL FORTE - Forte Puin, che prende il nome dalla settecentesca Baracca di Puin (all'altezza dell'omonima Osteria), è una fortificazione eretta tra il 1815 e il 1830 a difesa del settore nord di Genova. Giace sulla dorsale che divide Val Bisagno e Val Polcevera, poco oltre Forte Sperone (GC1K4QA). È formato da una torre di due piani circondata da mura terrapienate e da un fossato, a cui si accedeva tramite un ponte levatoio. A metà ottocento era armato con due cannoni campali da 8 pollici, due obici lunghi, due petrieri e quattro cannoncini, e poteva ospitare stabilmente 28 soldati, più 45 addizionali in caso di necessità. Fu abbandonato a fine Ottocento, e radiato dalle liste militari nel 1908; nel 1963 fu restaurato e abitato per una ventina d'anni da un privato. Attualmente è proprietà del Comune di Genova e, seppur in buone condizioni, non è visitabile. È facilmente raggiungibile a piedi o in mountain bike dal Righi, dove si può arrivare in funicolare o in auto. Sulla mappa sono segnati waypoint per aiutarvi a raggiungere il forte.
LA CACHE - Container piccolo e nero, nascosto sul fianco est del forte, sul versante della Val Bisagno. PORTATEVI UNA PENNA! C'è spazio per piccoli TB e SWAG. Rimettete la cache come la avete trovata, in modo che non sia visibile: d'estate, il giro dei forti è meta di numerosi muggles e trekker!
[ENG] Puin Keep
THE KEEP - Puin Keep is a defensive building erected between 1815 and 1830 and named after "Puin Barrack", an elder building once situated near the modern restaurant Osteria de Baracche. It lies on the ridge dividing Val Bisagno (to the east) and Val Polcevera (to the west), once protecting the northern sector of the city, right ahead of Forte Sperone (see GC1K4QA). It consists of a 2-floor tower encircled by protective walls and a trench, and it could be accessed through a drawbridge. During mid XIX century, it was equipped with two 8-inches field cannons, two howitzers, two petraries and four smaller cannons; it could host 28 men, with 45 additional whenever needed. It was abandoned at the end of XIX century and radiated from military lists in 1908. Since 1963 and for twenty years to come, it has been restored and inhabited by a private. Now the keep property belongs to the Comune di Genova, and despite the good conditions the keep cannot be visited. It can be easily reached by feet or mountain bike from Righi, that is accessible via cable railway or by car. I have listed some waypoints to help you reach the cache!
THE CACHE - Small black container, hidden in the external perimetral walls, on the east side facing Val Bisagno. BRING YOUR OWN PEN! There is room for small SWAGs and TBs. Place the cache back the way you found it, so that it is not visible: the trail is quite crowded during sunny days.
