I've always wondered what this wildflower was call, I've seen it growing along roadsides and in fields. Chicory is in the Aster family, and blossoms from April to October. The flowers are usually a violet-blue but occasionally white or pink flowers . The long tap root was commonly roasted and used as a substitute for coffee, and it' leaves can be used in salads. Don' think I would try either! Cache is a quick park n grab. You will need a pen. Tks.
Wildflower57 has passed away, this is her daughter. I don't live in the area so if you have issues with the cache send a message and I will try and send someone to look into it. If there is anyone that would like to take her caches over that live in the Upper Valley let me know.
Thank you.
