The Mona Lisa is maybe one of the most valuable paintings in the world. Painted by Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, it may be "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world." It is permanently on display at the Louvre museum in Paris, France.
At the posted coordinates, you will see a small art installation inspired by the Mona Lisa. Interestingly, even in the middle of winter, the surrounding area could be covered in snow but the "Mona Lisa" can still be seen. Had my suspicion on how this was happening but it was only confirmed after seeing it after fresh snowfall. I have walked past it countless times and wanted to celebrate it with a geocache. This multi-cache should be easy to find. You just need to find two sets of numbers to calculate the final coordinates
From posted coordinates, walk north (towards Finch Ave) along the sidewalk about 20 steps. You should see three sets of bike racks next to the building. Count the total number of hoops in the three bike racks. This will be number A.
Continue on the sidewalk to stage 2. You will see an electrical utility box behind a gate. On it you will see a code that begins with PT followed by 5 digits. Number B is the sum of the 5 digits. If the 5 digits are obscured by vegetation, look for the 7-digit number on the same electrical box and take the sum of all digits, and then subtract 5 from it. This will also equal B.
Number C = A ✖️ B
To calculate the final North coordinates: Add (C - 70)➗1000 to the posted coordinates.
To calculate the final West coordinates: Subtract (C - 76)➗1000 from the posted coordinates.
Please do not park your car on Doris Ave. Try to find a spot on an east-west street like Holmes Ave. or Olive Ave. As the posted coordinates and the final GZ are in a residential neighbourhood, I encourage you to look for the cache during the day and avoid searching at night with flashlights.
Congratulations to Duang for the FTF!
