The PREMUŽIĆ TRAILS were constructed in 1930s by the famous Croatian creator of mountaineering trails and forestry engineer Ante Premužić. They are a true masterpiece of dry stone architecture.
Premužić Trail #1 is about 8 kilometers long and leads from the campsite in Lopar through geological interesting places like "Fruga" to the small village Matići. This trail is not recommended for cyclists. At the place where the cache is hidden the path continues to the highest peak of Island Rab - Kamenjak. The cache is best reachable from Matići (near the church Sv. Petra) on an easy hiking path. You will also see some impressive retention dams, built 1967 for the protection against flash floods. Table #10 of Geopark Rab shows more information. If you continue some hundred meters to Lopar (Fruga) you will see some interesting rocks ("mushrooms" - erosional remnants) and another table #9 of Geopark Rab.
The box is hidden a little bit away from the walking path and not in a stone wall. Use hint or spoiler picture for a quick find.
The cache is a small plasticbox without pen, pen please bring themselves. BYOP.
Parking is available near waypoint "start" or the church.

Die PREMUŽIĆ WANDERWEGE wurden in 1930er Jahren vom berühmten kroatischen Erbauer von Wanderwegen und Forstingenieur Ante Premužić angelegt. Sie sind ein wahres Meisterwerk der Trockensteinmauerarchitektur.
Der Premužić Wanderweg #1 ist 8 Kilometer lang und führt vom Campingplatz in Lopar durch geologisch besonders interessante Inselgebiete wie das "Fruga"-Tal bis zum kleinen Ort Matići. Dieser Weg ist nicht für Radfahrer geeignet. An der Stelle wo der Cache liegt führt der Wanderweg weiter bis zum höchsten Gipfel der Insel Rab, den Kamenjak. Der Cache ist am besten von Matići (nahe der Kirche Sv. Petra) auf einem leicht begehbaren Wanderweg zu erreichen. Interessant sind auch die massiven Stein-Staudämme, die im Jahr 1967 als Schutz vor Flut und Überschwemmungen errichtet wurden. Die Tafel #10 des Geopark Rabs zeigt mehr Informationen dazu. Einige Hundert Meter weiter Richtung Lopar (Fruga) gibt es einige eindrucksvolle Felsen zu bewundern ("Pilze" - Erosionsreste) und eine weitere Tafel #9 des Geoparks Rab.
Die Box ist etwas abseits vom Wanderweg versteckt und nicht in einer Steinmauer. Verwende den Hint oder das Spoilerbild für einen raschen Fund.
Die Dose ist eine kleine Plastikbox ohne Stift, Stift bitte selbst mitbringen. BYOP.
Parkplätze sind nahe dem Wegpunkt "Start" oder bei der Kirche verfügbar.
