Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 2019 home run derby! Every Saturday morning a new cache will be released. After it's published, you will have roughly a week to find it and select a slugger to represent you in that week's edition of the Home Run Derby. Select one player and include his name in your log. The number of home runs he hits the following week (starting the Friday after cache publication) is your score; don't worry, we will handle all the scoring.

The series will be cumulative points from April through September, with a week off over the All Star break. The "catch" is every player must be unique, so FTF has choice of any player, second to find will have second pick and so on. The cache hiders will also be playing so the cache owner will select fifth each week. This is week 8 of the series (8 of 25). All scoring will take place Friday, May 24, 2019 through Thursday, May 30, 2019. Participation in the derby is strictly optional so feel free to find the cache and watch all the action from the grandstand. PLAY BALL!

Bob Uecker
American baseball player

Robert George Uecker is an American former Major League Baseball player and current sportscaster, comedian, and actor. Facetiously dubbed "Mr. Baseball" by TV talk show host Johnny Carson, Uecker has served as a play-by-play announcer for Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts since 1971. (from Wikipedia)

He was a catcher, playing for:
Milwaukee Braves
St Louis Cardinals
Philadelphia Phillies
Atlanta Braves

Of the only 14 homers Uecker hit, within a 1 year period, he hit 3 of those off of future hall of fame pitchers - Gaylord Perry on May 5, 1965, Sandy Koufax on July 24, 1965, and Fergie Jenkins on April 29, 1966? Uecker often joked on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show that he always thought the Koufax homer would keep Sandy from getting into the Hall of Fame. Uecker also hit one career grand slam on June 21, 1967, off pitcher Ron Herbel. Uecker's quipped that after he hit the slam the manager of the Giants came out to the mound to take Herbel out and with him was Herbel's suitcase. (http://www.baseball-almanac.com)

What I associate with him is his TV commercials where he was in the "front" row.
