CONGRATS TO DESERT DAWG FOR THE FTF! Mayor's Pond is a 2-3 acre man-made pond on Box Elder Creek at the mouth of Box Elder Canyon in Brigham City. It is open to all anglers and is regulated by the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources Fishing Proclamation. It is reputed not to freeze in the winter, so it's a great spot for waterfowl when other options are iced over. Likely fish species to catch are Rainbow Trout and possibly Brown Trout.
Cache is a plastic ammo can that was originally stocked with all sorts of swag and a couple of fishing gear items. Given the cache's relatively close location to the pond, it would be a great place to leave any fishing gear for another angler to use.
