This cache is NOT a challenge cache. It’s a bonus cache placed simply for your enjoyment.
This year’s challenge caches are not on the same trail as each other, but most of them can be done in a loop from the parking lot behind the park office and all of them can be accessed from the same parking lot. There is a $7 entrance fee for those who do not have the empire pass. Free parking can be found at the hunter’s parking, but you will have a longer walk and you may end up backtracking to get back to your car. The closest parking to this cache is the hunters’ parking area, however, if you’re doing this as a walking loop from the parking lot, you will walk right past this one anyway.
You are looking for a camouflaged cache that blends in extremely well with its environment. You might even call it a ghost cache because... where is it? The answer: it’s not too far off from the path, maybe within 10 feet or so. Credit for the idea of this cache goes to CC Land Pirates, from whom this idea was graciously borrowed.
