World Wide Flash Mobs are being held simultaneously around the world at 12:00 Noon Central Time on June 22. This is the 16th year for WWFM's. This flash mob will begin by the monument near the Birthplace of President Harry Truman at 1009 Truman, in Lamar, MO. This flash mob will follow the format of others on this date. There is parking nearby at multiple locations. So we will gather at noon. We will start with introductions, we will do photos at various locations around the Truman house and grounds. NOTE: For our photos, everybody bring a newspaper. We will then all hold newspapers for the photographer like Harry did the day after a Chicago newspaper printed the Headline that Dewey had defeated Truman in the 1948 Presidential election.
We will have other activities that are typical of flashmobs. We will have drawings for a few door prizes. The first 20 geocachers who log a will attend, will receive a commemorative pathtag for attending. A "typical" flashmob meal will also be distributed. There will be other activities.
The Truman birthplace is a state Historic site and is managed by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Beth of the DNR office at the site has been informed about this flash mob. I told her that some attendees might like tours before or after the flash mob, but that will be on your own.
