“Bob’s Your Uncle” is a British phrase which is similar in meaning to the French “Voilá”. It means “and there it is” or “and there you have it”, so it would be a most appropriate exclamation whenever you find a geocache, whether it happens to be this one or another similarly easy find.
The phrase originated when the British Prime Minister Robert Cecil appointed his nephew Arthur Balfour to the choice post of Chief Secretary for Ireland way back in 1887. The appointment was both surprising and unpopular back in the day. Though Mr. Balfour may have had some other minor and less noticeable qualications for his new gig, the most conclusive attribute was “Bob’s your uncle”.
This geocache has been placed for the SCAR2019 even and is not meant to be found nor logged until at least 5:30 pm on Friday, May 24th, 2019.
