Geocache Description:

'The Northbrook, or the Panny as many people know it, flows through Ludwell Valley Park – the longest stream within Exeter, rising on the hills above Pennsylvania and joining the Exe below the Northbrook Golf Course. It’s much appreciated, providing a haven for kingfishers, water rails, egrets, dippers, otters, eels and more. A winding leafy path and that lovely sound of running water, making you feel as though you are in the country when just yards from the urban streets.' (http://ludwelllife.org.uk/the-panny/)

The origins of the word 'Panny' are uncertain but rumour suggests that it comes from 'paani' which is related to the Hindi word for water and there were certainly Indian soldiers billetted at the nearby barracks during World War 1. Recent improvements instigated by a local support group and funded by local businesses and Exeter City Council has seen the adjacent pathway turn from a neglected overgrown and somewhat unsafe one to somewhere which is a real pleasure to stroll along. Foliage is of course growing fast this time of year so please be careful of possible stingers around the cache site.

The container is too small for a pen. The path and waypoints are wheelchair accessible but a user would need help to access the final hide.

This multi starts at the wooden welcome archway through which you will pass to walk along the Panny path and proceeds along its length, a walk of around 12 minutes, though a little longer if you decide to stop for a while at some of the waypoints.

The coordinates for the waypoints seem to vary a little when I check them, probably due to tree cover, but the items at each one are very obvious anyway.

A. The answer to the original question regarding the map isn't currently available as the map is missing from the frame. So, on the post diagonally opposite, how many words are on either of the round signs with a green arrow on?

B. At the double bench, the number of supporting legs plus 1.

C. At the single bench, what is the total number of nut-and-bolt combinations in the backrest supports from the back view?

D. How many supports does the creature here have?

E. What is the total number of UNCHAINED posts here? (Green plus rusty)

With the answers to questions A to E (which add up to a total of 25) you can use the following formula to work out the coordinates for the final hide which is close to the path.

N50 (C (D - B) . (D - A) D (E -C) W003 (E X B) . (D - [A + C} B ( [C + E] - ([A + D] )
