Sandford Park Bluebird Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

SouthWestWanderer: Well, sorry to have to do this, but with the cache only having been replaced on Thursday and having already been muggled again, and due to the difficulty in replacing the container this one has to be archived.

Sorry to disappoint the previous searcher: I can tell you that I am just as disappointed.

Geocache Description:

Sandford Park Bluebird

This Cache does exactly what it says on the tin: it is a blue bird located in Sandford Park in Cheltenham.

The Park:

Sandford Park is one of Cheltenham's lesser known, but more beautiful, parks. It is situated close to the centre of town and forms an idyllic walkway between the hustle and bustle of the hight street and the quieter suburb of Charlton Park and The Hospital. It also links through to Cox's meadow if you fancy a further stroll.

More information about the park can be found on the council's website: HERE

The Cache:

I have listed this as a D3/T4 because, despite being hidden in (very) plain sight, the cache is likely to prove difficult to remove without attracting attention: you will either need to be very stealthy, or very brazen. It is also approx. 9 feet from the ground so will either need a boost, or some specialist access equipment - It is not one for a quick stroll out from the High Street as a break in the day's shopping! (unless you happen to have just bought a stepladder!)

Please also note that the container is fragile and will break if dropped from the height of the hiding place, so retrieval should not be attempted with a litterpicker/grab. Please replace with the tail to the left pushed in as far as possible to avoid him falling out, and so that he is just peeking his head out.

I hope that this is a fun one that brings a smile to some cacher's faces, as well as the more observant members of the Muggle community.
