Geocache Description:

Welcome to another edition of the Pillars of their Community.  I started this series as a way to share with others my interest in looking as all the unique "Pillars" in all the different cemeteries.  Hopefully you will enjoy your stroll exploring the pillars like I did.

Each stage will aid you in gathering the answers needed to locate the final.  Pay close attention to the questions and make sure you are getting the information from the correct "Pillar"

In the end you will be solving for the following N 41 14.ABC W 081 24.XYZ

Let me start by saying welcome the "Pillars" of Draper community.

Stage 1 – located in the middle of the Ellsworth and Mills “Pillars”

1.  Stop one brings you to a very unique pillar.  This hexagon shaped pillar belongs to the Ellsworth family.  Not much is known about the Ellsworth family but engraved here are 5 members of that family.  The interesting thing about this "Pillar" is how each name is carved in a circular pattern.  Each forming a sort of incomplete circle within.  For your first question locate Elisha Ellsworth.  He was 73 years old when he left this world and its odd but the month and date he passed are not in line at all.  However, I digress, back to your question.  In the circle surrounded by Elisha's name is a word, the number of letters in that word is your answer for A.

2. Staying with the Ellsworth "Pillar", you need to now locate E.B.  Presumably the head of the family there is little known about him.  At least from what we can find here.  To find the value of B, you need to count the number of letters in the circle that is surrounded by E.B.'s name.  That value is your answer to B.

3. Right next door is the Mills "Pillar".  It almost looks brand new, but it’s the ever popular zinc headstone that was used in late 1800's.  On this "Pillar" are the names of Matilda, Elizur and his sister Julia M.  Julia M lived a long life however, it’s not known if Julia ever married. She did live to see the coming of the 20th century.  Which in those times had to be very exciting.  Now onto your question.  Julia's portion of the "Pillar" is unlike the rest of her families.  Probably because she passed away long after the company that produced these headstones had gone out of business.  Anyhow, the value you are looking for is the last digit in the year she was born.  That value is going to be the value for C.

Well there you have it, you have now gathered all the information for the North, its time to move along and gather the needed information for the West.

Stage 2 – Located between the Wright and Case “Pillars”

4. Welcome to the North side of Draper.  We are here to visit with two “Pillars” of our community the Wright and Case families.  For your first question and the value of X you are looking for Thomas Wright.  Now Thomas was born in 1779.  That to me is just amazing.  He was born just when this country was born.  He got to grow up watching history happen.   He was even there when Ohio joined the union.  Thomas also served his country as a member of the GAR.  Now that’s is someone special.  Unfortunately just like everything else there comes a time we must leave this world.  And in Thomas’s case that was in 1854.  However, you need to find the first digit in the date he left us, for once you do, you will have the value needed for X.

5. Now lets turn to their neighbor, the Case family.  Meet Lora and Sarah Case and their three children George, Julian and Wilber.  Sometime when I read these “Pillars” I try to image the people and the lives they must have lived.  Take for instance Lora and Sarah, here.  They were married for at least 48 years. Their first child George, only lived for just over a month, while their second lived to be 15, and Wilbert their third child lived to be 40 years old.  Sadly though Lora outlived them all, he not only lost his wife Sarah, but also his three children.  That had to be tough on Lora who finally passed away in 1897.  Well now to your question.  Locate the last work on Sarah’s side of the “Pillar”.  Count the number of letters and add 1 to that count.  That will give you the value of Y.

Stage 3 – Stone “Pillar”

6.  Now to the last “Pillar” of our community.  Say hello to the Stone family.  That of Charles and his wife Sabrina.  Not to much is known about the Stone family.  However, they are one of the “Pillars” of this community and they need to have attention drawn to them.  To locate the final number needed, you must find use the numerical value for the month in which Sabrina left us.  That value is the number needed for Z.

There you have it.  I hope you enjoyed meeting all these great “Pillars” of the Draper community.

Once you locate the cache please place it back as you found it so that the next cacher can have the same enjoyable experience you did.
